Make the Year Mean More
Anniversaries aren’t just about celebration. They’re about connection. And while many organizations begin with an anniversary logo, we begin with a bigger question: What should this milestone accomplish?
Before anything is written, designed or launched, we look at what the anniversary itself needs to convey. For some companies, that may mean supporting business development. For others, it may mean strengthening employee pride, generating media attention, deepening community relationships or creating a clearer narrative about what comes next.
Once the meaning behind the anniversary has been defined, &Barr builds the strategy around it. Sometimes that includes a commemorative logo. Other times, the opportunity is much broader. The agency develops the messaging framework, production timelines and creative direction needed to bring the milestone to life, then creates an integrated campaign that serves both internal and external audiences. From anniversary logos, press releases and media outreach to executive talking points, internal communications, social content, paid media, event concepts, branded materials and community activations, every element is designed to work together in service of a larger goal.
This strategic, immersive approach has helped shape milestone campaigns for Space Coast Credit Union, Seniors First, Habitat for Humanity, Rosen Hotels & Resorts and &Barr itself. Each organization had a unique story to tell, but our goal was consistently the same: to make their anniversary feel like more than a celebration, but an opportunity to honor the past, amplify the present and build momentum for the future.
An Anniversary Dressed to Stand Apart
For Rosen Hotels & Resorts’ 50th anniversary, &Barr developed a fashion-driven, property-focused campaign that gave meeting planners something unexpected in a sea of sameness.
The “Rosen Runway” campaign recast Rosen’s meeting properties through an editorial lens, positioning each destination with the polish, drama and allure of a luxury fashion spread.
Instead of a typical anniversary message, &Barr transformed a milestone into a moment of reintroduction, presenting Rosen’s meeting properties in a new light. The idea came to life through striking photography, premium branded content, gallery-inspired events, oversized invitation boxes, custom publications and curated experiences for meeting planners.
The result was an anniversary campaign that did more than commemorate 50 years. It made a familiar brand feel fresh, elevated and impossible to overlook.
And the performance matched the ambition: a 177% year-over-year increase in click-through rate, a 50% reduction in cost-per-click and results that exceeded industry benchmarks by as much as 400%.
When the Celebration Becomes a Community Commitment
For Space Coast Credit Union’s 75th anniversary, &Barr and SCCU’s Marketing Team transformed the milestone into a platform for long-term community impact. Rather than focusing solely on the institution’s history, the campaign introduced Partners in Purpose, a Corporate Social Opportunity program designed to strengthen SCCU’s commitment to the communities it serves.
The anniversary became more than a celebration. It became the launchpad for a larger story, connecting the credit union’s legacy of service with a long-term investment in local partnerships, volunteering, and community support.
To commemorate the anniversary further, &Barr and SCCU’s Marketing team launched 75 Acts of Purpose, a year-long campaign that transformed a milestone anniversary into a meaningful demonstration of community impact. Together, the teams created an initiative centered on completing 75 acts of service and support across the communities SCCU serves, ensuring the anniversary reflected the credit union’s purpose rather than simply its history. While many of these initiatives were driven through SCCU’s broader Partners in Purpose program, &Barr and the Marketing team intentionally positioned 75 Acts of Purpose as a signature anniversary campaign that celebrated SCCU’s legacy while reinforcing its enduring commitment to serving members and strengthening communities for years to come.
Celebrating the People Behind the Mission
For Seniors First’s 60th anniversary, &Barr developed a yearlong public relations strategy designed to keep the organization’s mission visible long after the birthday celebration. Instead of relying on a single commemorative announcement, the campaign created steady monthly awareness moments, volunteer initiatives, media opportunities and community storytelling that continually reinforced the organization’s impact throughout its milestone year.
The anniversary also became an opportunity to celebrate the people who make the mission possible. Storytelling, including interviews within Seniors First, highlighted the volunteers, donors, partners and community members whose contributions have shaped six decades of service. Combined with city and county proclamations, the campaign transformed a milestone into a community-wide celebration that honored Seniors First’s legacy while building momentum for the future.
Celebrating Our Own Story
For its own 65th anniversary, &Barr approached the milestone with the same intention we bring to our clients: as an opportunity to honor the past, celebrate the present and invest in what comes next.
Rather than centering the anniversary solely on ourselves, we built the campaign around three pillars that reflected the people and communities that have shaped the agency’s story. To honor the past, &Barr partnered with Seniors First, recognizing the generations of people whose support and trust helped build the communities we have served over the last six and a half decades. To celebrate the present, the agency joined forces with Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County and the YMCA of Central Florida, organizations actively strengthening the communities we serve today. And to invest in the future, &Barr partnered with local colleges and universities, connecting with the next generation of communications and creative professionals.
The creative expression of the campaign was intentionally integrated across channels, including a custom anniversary mark, Orlando Business Journal advertising, out-of-home placements, digital media, social storytelling, public relations outreach and branded communications. The celebration culminated with a City of Orlando proclamation recognizing July 15 as &Barr Day and a gathering of team members, clients and partners whose contributions have helped shape the agency’s legacy.
More than a celebration of 65 years, the campaign reflected what the milestone represented: gratitude for where we’ve been, appreciation for where we are and optimism for what’s ahead.
Make the Year Count
A commemorative logo, press release or celebration can mark the year. But the right strategy can make it all mean and matter significantly more.
At &Barr, we help clients move beyond the expected pieces to build stories, campaigns, and experiences with purpose. The result is a milestone that doesn’t just live on a calendar. It earns a meaningful role in the brand’s future.
